“Defend the cause of the fatherless.” Isaiah 1:17

Orphan Sunday is an annual event observed the 2nd Sunday in November.  This year churches of every denomination in every state across the U.S. and in 76 countries globally will celebrate adoption, foster care and global orphan initiatives that reveal God’s heart.

All around the world orphans are hungry, homeless, voiceless, without hope, without love.  And it’s not just a need that exists in far away places – it’s a need right here at home too.  With nearly 400,000 children in foster care (100,000+ available for adoption) here in the U.S. we have a national foster care crisis.  In New York State alone there are 23,924 kids in foster care – compare that to the 14,767 churches throughout the state and we can see clearly that the Christian community is the solution to the problem.

Join Christians around the globe rising for foster youth and orphans on November 8th with one voice, on one day, for one purpose – to defend the cause of the fatherless.

JFO will be sharing locally at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albany, NY and will host a table at Loudonville Community Church in Loudonville, NY, both on November 8th.  What will YOUR church be doing for Orphan Sunday?  To learn more visit: orphansunday.org
