There are two types of adoption: domestic or international. A domestic adoption takes place within the United States and can be done privately through an agency or through the foster care system.  Fostering to adopt is one of the least costly ways to adopt.

International adoption requires a great deal in the way of finances and patience. The process is complicated and long. Yet there are 163 million orphans in the world today equal to almost 1/2 the population of the United States. These orphans would form a line 30,000 miles long. Every year 12 million children become orphans. How can we ignore this atrocity without sacrificing to help out when we have been blessed with so much? God calls us to accept responsibility in James 1:27.

There are many adoption agencies out there, but we recommend that you visit Christian Alliance For Orphans at  for a list of reputable Christian agencies that facilitate both domestic and international adoptions.
