Attn:  Foster & Adoptive Parents (and those who want to be)

JFO is hosting the ETC simulcast again this year on Friday & Saturday, April 8 & 9, 2016 in Ravena, NY.  This FREE conference brought to you by ETC and Show Hope is designed to help adoptive & foster parents, ministry leaders and professionals better understand how to connect with “children from hard places” in order to help them heal and become all that God desires for them to be.

This conference features Dr. Karyn Purvis and is ideal for adoptive and foster parents, those considering adoption or foster care and those who are serving and supporting others, including social workers, agency professionals, church staff and ministry leaders, counselors, therapists and others.  Certificates will be provided at the end of each day so attendees can get training hour credits.

Complimentary coffee & muffins will be provided both mornings.  Bring your lunch and eat on site or visit one of the local fast food restaurants or eateries nearby.  This event is FREE but a free-will offering will be taken each day.

Location:  Abounding Love Christian Fellowship, 2480 US Rt. 9W, Faith Plaza, Ravena, NY 12143                                                 Call:  518-779-2279

Rallying the Church for the Cause of the Fatherless

Wes Stafford, former President & CEO of Compassion International recently spoke at the Global Forum of World Without Orphans in Thailand.  When asked what actions he would most like to see happen to address the orphan crisis, Stafford said, “We are not mobilizing congregations adequately.  The most basic level of awareness is missing in our churches.  We must awaken people to the importance of these children.  We also need to recognize and make heroes of those who do care for orphans.  We need to interview adoptive parents, ask about their greatest needs, and let the church hear those needs and be inspired to carry the load.  We have to inspire the uninterested or uninformed person to be involved in some way.”

Wes Stafford just described the work of JFO!  We are on a mission to rally the Church for the cause of the fatherless.  Is your church active in orphan care?  Adoption?  Foster Care?  If so, we’d love to hear what your orphan ministry is doing!  If not, we’d love to come share God’s heart for the orphan with you congregation.  Contact us at or call 518-779-2279.
