Orphan Sunday is less than a week away!  We just completed our 2nd Annual Orphan Conference.  Our hearts are full of gratefulness for all those who attended, shared, and volunteered to make this conference a success.  Many came, many helped, all were inspired!  We’ve already got ideas for next year’s conference too.  Now that the conference is behind us, we are firmly focused on Orphan Sunday.  Mary will be over seeing the celebration at Gospel Community Church in Coxsackie, NY at 10:30am on 11/3. This event will include the Heart Gallery display, prayer for orphans in Cambodia, Ukraine, and the local foster care system.  The official Orphan Sunday video featuring Ukraine’s orphans will be presented followed by testimonies given by our own Sergey Slager and Andrii Flach.  These 2 young men were both orphans in Ukraine and adopted into local families.  Simultaneously, Sandra will be at Goodwill Church in Montgomery, NY with Tom Michaels-Zahradnik of the Sound of Life radio network.  Sandra will be speaking at both the 9am and 11:30am services and the Sound of Life’s Sunday Brunch show will broadcast live from 8-11am all to celebrate Orphan Sunday!  This year we are excited to have played a role in inspiring 15 area churches to celebrate Orphan Sunday as well!  It’s not too late for your church to celebrate Orphan Sunday.  If you miss 11/3, you can still spread the word about God’s heart for the orphan anytime during the month of November since it’s also National Adoption Awareness Month!    Let’s come together on one day, with one voice, for one purpose – to defend the fatherless!
